A major news story is coming from Firozabad, Uttar Pradesh. In a police encounter, the main accused in the ₹2 crore cash van loot case, Naresh, has been shot dead. Earlier today, Naresh had escaped from police custody. Four teams were formed to search for him. During the chase, Naresh had an encounter with the police near Halpur underpass. He opened fire on the police team, and in retaliation, the police shot him dead.
ASP (Rural) Anuj Chaudhary narrowly escaped as a bullet got stuck in his bulletproof jacket. Meanwhile, the in-charge of Ramgarh police station was injured after being hit by a bullet.
On the morning of September 30, Naresh and five of his associates had looted a cash van traveling from Kanpur to Agra. Police had earlier arrested six accused in the case, but Naresh managed to flee from custody today — before being killed in the encounter.
