If you’re planning to travel to Delhi NCR in the next few days, be prepared for some serious traffic hurdles!
Noida Police have issued an important advisory warning about heavy restrictions and traffic diversions at Delhi’s borders because of the upcoming Independence Day celebrations.
Goods vehicles of all types (heavy, medium, and light) from Noida will not be allowed to enter Delhi during these critical time slots:
- From 10 PM on August 12, 2025, until the conclusion of the full dress rehearsal on August 13, 2025.
- From 10 PM on August 14, 2025, until the Independence Day parade ends on August 15, 2025.
These restrictions are in place to maintain security and ensure the smooth running of events around the Red Fort and nearby areas.
Traffic diversions are set up at major entry points:
- Vehicles approaching Delhi from Chilla Red Light border will have to take a U-turn and use the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway and then the Eastern Peripheral Expressway to continue their journey.
- Those coming through the DND border must turn back at the DND toll plaza and follow the same expressways route.
- At Kalindi Kunj Yamuna border, vehicles will be redirected before the Yamuna river underpass, again using the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway and Eastern Peripheral Expressway.
- Vehicles coming via the Yamuna Expressway towards Delhi should go through Zero Point, Pari Chowk, P-3, Kasna, and Sirsa before joining the Eastern Peripheral Expressway.
- Vehicles coming from Pari Chowk should also navigate through P-3, Kasna, and Sirsa to access the Eastern Peripheral Expressway.
