According to the police, the accused sent a terrorist threat message to the Mumbai Traffic Police with the intention of trapping his friend. In this message, there was a threat to shake the whole city.

A man was arrested in Noida, Uttar Pradesh for sending a bomb threat to Mumbai. He is accused of threatening to shake Mumbai by planting several human bombs in the city.

The arrested person has been identified as 51-year-old Ashwani Kumar, a resident of Patliputra in Bihar. According to the police, he was living in Noida for the last five years and worked as an astrologer. The police have seized his mobile phone and SIM card and he is being brought from Noida to Mumbai.

He was arrested just hours after a threatening message was sent to the official WhatsApp number of the Mumbai Traffic Police. The message claimed that 34 human bombs have been planted in the city and 14 Pakistani terrorists have entered India.

According to the Mumbai Police, the sender of the message identified himself as a member of an organisation called ‘Lashkar-e-Jihadi’ and threatened that 400 kg of RDX would be used in the blasts.

What was shocking was that the threat came at a time when Mumbai was on a day before the Ganesh Visarjan festival. Due to this, a high alert was immediately declared in the city and security was tightened.
